A handy monopod

This is actually my second one of these, a Manfrotto 3245 monopod. My first was purchased a couple of years ago, but sadly was left behind at a shoot, and never seen again. Apparently, someone ended up with a really nice monopod.
Of course I did have a second `pod to use, but it just wasn't the same. Personally, I don't see how other event videographers do without one. The real difference with the 3245, is the trigger. It's a three section `pod, but the trigger allows you to raise and lower the third section on the fly. Release the trigger, and it locks in place. The remaining two sections are a more common twist lock style. A clever dual threaded screw allows either direct camera mount, or the use of a pan head.

I was inspired by your comments to look for the 334B at B&H. They have many, many monopods from Manfrotto, but not this one. Where did you get yours? How much? Can you say something about why this model is particularly good for your use versus the other options from Manfrotto?
Thanks! Glad to have you back, even if it isn't a podcast.
Strangely, it’s sold as a 3245 on the B&H site, as well as my local camera shop. I’m not sure why the different model numbers, but it’s the same unit. You’ll definitely not regret on of these gems, and it’ll last years if you aren’t as careless as I am. B&H has it for $90, but I paid $110 at precision camera in Austin, as I needed it for a shoot when my other (non Manfrottto) `pod failed. This thing is really handy for interviews. No wait to twist the rings for a different height subject, just squeeze the trigger, and your ready to go.
They make another version called the 685B, but I don’t believe it’s worth the added cost.
