Episode Nineteen Of A Pixelriffic Podcast

Some thoughs about pricing for event videographers, and further experiences with h.264. It's still not clear why my Internet surfing box had problems with the movie trailers. On further examination of the codec however, it may in fact be the best thing since sliced bread.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize the power of h.264 at low bitrates.

Also, if you have Adobe Premiere Pro and quicktime (player) you can encode h.264 in Premiere without buying quicktime pro. This may be the case with Vegas, Avid Xpress, FCP, etc. Not sure though.

Hi Justin,

Thanks for the tip. I don't have a recent version of
Premiere, but Vegas can do Quicktime encoding directly.
Unfortunately, it doesn't yet support the h.264 codec.
Hopefully they'll fix this in the next update.

Currently, I'm exporting to an AVI, and using QT Pro for encoding to h.264. This works well, but a bit slower as you'd imagine.

Thanks for listening,
